More time with Dad
I am writing this on behalf of my husband, George, but this is really to benefit our children. We have been married for 12 years and over those 12 years we have spent more time apart than we have together. My husband is a member of the United States Marine Corps. He has been serving in the Marine Corps for the last 15 years. He has been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan 4 times, spent three years working non-stop as a Drill Instructor, and has always given 100% of himself to serving his Country. We have moved across the country, spent years without seeing family, and he has missed most of our children's milestones and holidays. His current position in the military requires him to work extremely long hours and travels for weeks or months at a time to train other Marines. In order to maintain his physical requirements for the military he must get up before 5am to workout and then works until 6, 7, 8 pm at night depending on that days demands. This has put a huge burden on our already very limited family time. If we were to have a peloton in our home, my husband could work out at home and spend more time with our children. This extra time would benefit not only my husbands and my mental and physical health but our children's as well. I have read through some of the other comeback stories and there are many others that are more deserving than my family. But I do hope that we can be considered as a recipient. Thank you.
